Blog 6-Dr. Maldonado and neuromyths

The talk you gave us Dr. Maldonado about the myths that there are today in neuroscience I found very interesting and dynamic of his party. The treatment at all times to get our attention with his voice and phrases were glad that item. About the issue, the demolition all the myths that were present in the text, including two which I thought were true, for example, I thought we occupied less than 10% of our brain, which Dr. Maldonado said it was not true or that the brain had specific locations for each function, which Dr. also denied in his speech.

About the size and shape of the brain I was surprised the difference we had with animals like squirrels but also the similarities we had with other animals such as chimpanzees. But certainly what caught my attention more on the presentation of Dr. Maldonado, was that the dolphins in their brains were more circunvuluciones us and more of crust, so it was somewhat larger but rather similar to ours. I guess thanks to the brain they have is because they are such intelligent animals.


For me the brain if it's like the computer, since it is the brain that are ordered all actions will, such that exits described in some texts the word love as something that is created in the head and not the soul'' ''as many say. The brain is the One who governs our actions, thoughts, desires and feelings like a computer programmed to act against some external stimuli. Brain functions are so different and specific from achieving coordinating simple movements like walking, speaking or flashing to do actions like gymnastics, skills or crafts that require 100% accuracy. For all these reasons that the brain is an organ spectacular and impressive of which I am sure even they are not discovered even half of their functions, which will be known with the passing of time and thanks to the multiple studies that performed on the brain as Dr. Maldonado and myths of neuroscience.
